The First Pace Watch Update Is Here

We have exciting news to share for our Amazfit Pace users. An over-the-air (OTA) update has launched for the Pace and the Amazfit Watch companion app (iOS and Android). 

How To Get There

If not prompted automatically, here's how you can manually update the watch.

Connect To WiFi

  1. First, connect your watch to a WiFi network of 2.4 Ghz.
  2. The WiFi password prompt will show up in your Amazfit Watch companion app.


  1. After connecting to WiFi, press the activation button on the upper right corner of your watch. 
  2. From the home screen, swipe down once.
  3. Then swipe left three times to reach More Settings
  4. Tap the More Settings and then scroll down until you reach an arrow icon labeled Update
  5. Tap Update to perform the firmware update.

Please note: The update may take 5 minutes or longer due to the GPS firmware upgrade.

Pace Firmware: What's New

The Pace watch update will include new Sports Modes: biking (indoor and outdoor) as well as indoor running. Watch face customization and translation issues have been fixed. Further improvements were made to activity data syncing, heart rate, pace, and GPS route tracking. The GPS firmware has also been updated (to v2.84). Airplane mode has been added, along with an option to switch between metric and imperial units of measurement. If you've been stuck on kilometers, the fix is here!

Pace Firmware (v1.3.1m) Release Note:

  • Added three Sports Modes: Bike, Bike Indoor, and Run Indoor
  • Supporting watch face customization
  • Added Airplane mode
  • Updated GPS firmware to v2.84
  • Optimized Heart Rate, Pace, and GPS route algorithms
  • Optimized activity data sync process
  • Supporting metric (km) / imperial (miles) unit switch

Amazfit Watch App: What's New

For the Amazfit Watch app, both Android and iOS versions have updates available in the Google Play and App Store. In both versions, watch faces customization has been added. You can now upload personal photos and set them as your watch background. Your app will display the three newest watch faces first. Data item reordering has been added for the new "Bike" sports mode. Along with various bug fixes, the activity data sync process has been optimized.

For the iOS app specifically, the home page has been redesigned with a sleek, new look. An iOS bug has been fixed, which caused an authorization page to appear after the app was already authorized. The app now supports only iOS 8.0 and above.

Google Play app (v1.1.8) Release Note:

App Store (v1.3.0) Release Note:

How to Change to a Custom Watch Face

By popular request, you can now upload personal photos to set as your watch background. Here's how you can customize your watch face.

Start on the Amazfit Watch App

  1. Make sure to update your Pace Firmware and Amazfit Watch app to the latest versions.
  2. On the home screen of the Amazfit Watch app, select Watch Faces.
  3. Choose any of the last three watch faces: 2017, Eternal Morning, or Golden Rooster.
  4. Go back to the app home screen, then tap Sync.
  5. The Pace will update to the watch face you chose.

Upload a Custom Image

  1. On the Amazfit Watch app, select Watch Faces.
  2. Scroll down until you reach Load Image.
  3. Take a photo, or choose one from your gallery.
  4. Confirm and wait for it to sync.

On the Pace Watch

  1. Press/hold down on your watch face, until the background image shrinks in size.
  2. Select Settings on the watch face.
  3. Swipe up until you see option to Choose Uploaded Image.
  4. Select the image you want as your background.
  5. Hit Confirm and Save.
  6. The image you uploaded will appear on your watch face.

How to Switch Units of Measurement

Here's how you can switch between metric (km) and imperial (miles). Before beginning, make sure your Amazfit Watch app is updated to the latest version.

On iOS

  1. Tap More Settings on home screen
  2. Tap on Units to change between Imperial to Metric 
  3. Go back to home screen and tap on Sync button

On Android

  1. Tap user icon in upper left hand corner of home screen
  2. Tap on Units to change between Imperial to Metric
  3. Go back to home screen and tap on Sync button
