Visualized Goal-Setting

Visualize yourself doing the things you've always wanted to do this summer, and include your loved ones too! With the warm season fast approaching, most families will likely relax and take it easy. But why slow down? Make these next 3 months count: take advantage of the long days and great weather with your kids, or significant other.

Seeing is believing. Goal-setting is more successful when you have it on paper. Amazfit will show you how with a visualization board. What better way than having visuals to motivate you - and your family - to do amazing things?

  • WHAT is a visualization board: Also known as a “Dream Board,” this is a powerful tool to translate your goals into reality. Instead of just thinking about your intentions or typing your ambitions on a phone, creating a physical presentation of what you want to accomplish will ensure a higher success rate.
  • WHY you should make one now: To reassess any failed “new year, new you” resolutions. It offers a fresh start, and the summertime gives you and your family more time to construct one. With such nice weather, you can go out and explore new opportunities and unique experiences such as festivals or urban markets, among other activities. Use this opportunity to bump up your fitness: plan a race, hike a tough mountain, learn how to swim, improve your blood levels, or improve your nutrition with delicious fruits that are now in season!

  • HOW to create it: With no one right way to make one, the possibilities are endless. For inspiration and ideas, look on Pinterest or Google. Grab a few magazines, newspaper clippings, old books or photos, some scissors and glue. Use a plain white presentation board or even a big sheet. Divide the board or sheet into different categories.

Think of all of the aspects of your life, such as financial, personal, career, health/wellness, and social/travel sections. Make a list of all the important things you and your family want to accomplish in each category. Then cut out phrases and pictures that represent these goals and stick them onto the board!

For example, let's say one of your goals this summer is to run a 5K race. You can find pictures of shoes, a medal, a sports watch (Amazfit has amazing ones), or a bib number to represent that goal.

In addition, you can arrange each goal on the board in order of importance or priority: the most vital at the top and using HUGE pictures, the least important at the bottom, using smaller pictures and words. Remember, there are many angles you can take when building a visualization board.

  • How to USE the board: Hang the board in clear sight, where you’ll see it everyday. Focus your efforts on one picture at a time, or you may feel overwhelmed. Perhaps start from left to right or with the smallest goals first. For example, if two of your goals are to try a water park and go on a weekend-long camping trip, considering starting with the water park first. Booking the camping getaway may take several weeks to make arrangements, whereas a day at the water park can be done spontaneously.

Try to accomplish at least one goal each week, and periodically look at your vision board to evaluate your progress. If there’s something you don't get to this summer, no worries. Remember the key is simply to plan what you want to accomplish, not what you must do. It’s not a sprint, its a marathon!

  • A few things to keep in mind:
    • Have a good balance across the board among the various categories between you and your family’s lives.
    • Make sure these collections of visuals will ensure growth throughout the summer, unlike traditional goals.
    • Most importantly, use it to have fun and bond with your loved ones!
