Taking a Closer Look at the Amazfit T-Rex 2: A Rugged Companion for Your Adventures

MB Reviews Gives A Roaring Approval of the Amazfit T-Rex Pro 2 Rugged Smart Watch

MB Reviews takes a test drive of the Amazfit T-Rex 2. Building upon the strong foundation laid in the first generation, the rugged Amazfit T-Rex 2 made significant improvements in its durability and GPS tracking, and expanded its range of features exponentially, thanks to the integration of the Zepp OS.

Design and Build Quality:

MB Review’s author Mark B remarks about the Amazfit T-Rex 2’s 1.39-inch AMOLED display with better resolution, providing excellent contrast and vivid visuals, and noted that “the buttons are reactive and very easy to press.”

Ruggedness:

The Amazfit T-Rex 2, which holds the 810G military standard certification and is designed to withstand abuse, features raised bezels for added screen protection. It’s water-resistant grade of 10 ATM means the watch can endure the equivalent of up to 100m of water pressure, while the specially designed circuitry system and battery enable operation in ultra-low temperatures – with Mark B pointing out the smart watch’s ability to excel in extreme cold as low as -22 degrees F (-30 degrees C).

Internal Hardware and Connectivity:

With Bluetooth 5.0 BLE, the Amazfit T-Rex 2 offers reliable connectivity within a 10-foot range. Additionally, its dual-band GPS tracking and support for six satellite positioning systems ensure accurate location tracking. The smartwatch supports both Android and iOS smartphones.

The Zepp OS:

The author remarked that the Zepp OS makes operating the Amazfit T-Rex 2 “so much smoother than on a lot of other smartwatches, even in the same price range”. Navigation is intuitive, granting quick access to essential features. The Zepp OS offers various options such as PAI (Personal Activity Intelligence), workout tracking, heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring, and more. The OS proves lightweight and efficient, rivaling other smartwatch platforms.

Mark B concludes that “If you’re looking for a rugged smartwatch and don’t want to pay up to $1,000 to get a Garmin device, then the Amazfit T-Rex 2 is perfect for the job…”
