Team Amazfit Athlete Story: John Dallas

John Dallas, a 40-year-old US citizen originally from Northern Ireland, has had a love for running since childhood, but it wasn't until he served in the army that he rediscovered his passion. He enjoys running for the energy it brings and the positive effects it has on the body. While he has not yet run the Boston Marathon, he is excited about the crowds and the overall experience of the race. John's training has been consistent, with a focus on slow and steady increases in volume. He is proud of achieving qualification for the Boston Marathon and completing a 24-hour endurance race with over 100 miles. In the future, he would like to participate in races in other countries and continue running and walking. For someone running their first marathon, John advises to have fun and build a strong foundation through consistent training. In his daily life, he prioritizes exercise, healthy eating, and quality sleep. At the Boston Marathon, John hopes to have fun and enjoy the experience. Despite his athletic achievements, John is content with a quiet life in nature and enjoying the simple things. He encourages others to practice and build their endurance, whether through walking or slow running.

Team Amazfit Athlete Story: Jeremy Vrentas

Jeremy Vrentas, 41, from Lee's Summit, Missouri, never ran much in his youth, but after turning 30, he started running. He joined a local running store's weekly group runs, which helped him become an avid runner. His why for running is to set an example for his kids, inspire others, and push himself to be better every day. This year, he is looking forward to running his first Boston Marathon and has been training with other races, such as the Mesa Marathon and the Little Rock Marathon. Jeremy is proud of qualifying for Boston at the Revel Big Bear November 2021 and hopes to qualify for the New York Marathon and complete a 50k in the future. His advice for someone running their first marathon is not to focus on times and to train to finish. In his daily life, he works on his core strength and cross-training to stay healthy as an athlete. Finally, he aims to finish the Boston Marathon and achieve a 3:09-3:19 finish time. Before running, Jeremy played drums in a band. He encourages others that with some simple discipline and goals, anyone can run a marathon.
