Rory Linkletter

Flagstaff, Arizona

  • College: BYU
  • Position: Olympic & World Champion Long Distance Runner

Rory Linkletter is an Olympian and one of Canada’s top distance runners, holding the national record in the half marathon with a standout 59:49. He also owns the second-fastest marathon time in Canadian history at 2:06:49, establishing himself as a serious contender on the world stage.

Linkletter’s journey has been anything but typical. Never a dominant force in high school or at BYU, he built his career through patience, persistence, and a belief in long-term progress. The marathon proved to be his true calling, though early races were marked by hard lessons before he broke through with a 2:08 performance in Seville.

A key turning point came with fatherhood, which gave him a deeper sense of purpose and motivation. Now based in Flagstaff, Arizona, he balances elite training with family life while sharing his journey openly through his YouTube channel.

Known for his data-driven approach, Linkletter relies heavily on heart rate and performance metrics to fine-tune his training. As he enters his prime, his ambitions have grown—setting his sights on podium finishes at major marathons and chasing the Canadian marathon record.

His mindset is simple: high risk, high reward.
