T-Rex Series March Update: Training, Navigation, and Golf Fully Upgraded

Amazfit has officially rolled out a major OTA update for the T-Rex 3, T-Rex 3 Pro, and T-Rex Ultra 2. The update began rolling out in phases on March 5 and was fully released to all users on April 7.

The update brings a range of new features, including a brand-new Golf mode for T-Rex Ultra 2, recreational diving mode and offline route planning directly on the watch for T-Rex 3, along with lactate threshold training metrics, and a redesigned sleep algorithm. Through continuous software updates, we're steadily expanding the capabilities of the T-Rex series in outdoor exploration, endurance training, and health monitoring.

Lactate Threshold Training Metric
A new Lactate Threshold (LT) analysis feature has been added. This metric is a key physiological parameter in endurance sports, helping runners manage training intensity more scientifically and gain a clearer understanding of their endurance level.

Navigation and Map Upgrades
The update also delivers an enhanced outdoor navigation experience:
  • Richer offline map data, such as the ability to see the environment (green spaces, water, mountains) at large scale for greater spacial awareness
  • More detailed road attributes, like distinctions for paved and unpaved roads
  • Automatic rerouting when deviating from the planned route during activities
In addition, after completing the exercises in a strength training template, users can continue segmented workouts instead of the session automatically ending and being saved. The sleep algorithm has also been updated for more accurate sleep tracking.

*Lactate Threshold Auto-Measurement: For Zepp App version 10.1.0 or above, auto-measurement is supported by default. For versions below 10.1.0, go to App > Device > Heart Rate Zones > Select Lactate Threshold Zone > Auto-Update > On. Once enabled, automatic measurement during workouts will be supported.

T-Rex Ultra 2

New Golf Mode
This update introduces the Golf mode, providing golfers with a more complete sports experience. The feature includes:
  • Data for over 40,000 golf courses worldwide
  • Distance to front/center/back of green
  • Distance to hazards
  • Digital scorecard
  • Target and pin positioning
The T-Rex Ultra 2 will also receive the Lactate Threshold training feature and the latest sleep algorithm, as part of the update.

Continuously Evolving Sports and Outdoor Experience
With the rollout of these updates, the T-Rex series now offers a more complete experience across navigation, training, health monitoring, and golf.

Looking ahead, more feature upgrades will continue to be delivered to users via software updates.

T-Rex 3

Adds Offline Route Planning and Recreational Diving Mode
T-Rex 3 now supports offline route planning directly on the watch. Plan your routes without relying on a smartphone, for a more convenient navigation experience for hiking, mountaineering, or trail running.

In addition, the system introduces a Recreational diving mode, so you can easily track and enjoy a wider range of diving experiences.

The update also includes several system optimizations:
  • Freediving algorithm improvements, delivering more stable and accurate depth readings throughout the dive, and the ability to start freediving sessions underwater (via the Go button)
  • BioCharge algorithm optimizations: Improved handling of primary sleep scenarios during exercise, with enhanced data calculation and presentation—better suited for long-duration activities such as ultra trail running; optimized prediction for short off-wrist periods, resulting in more consistent data around brief removals (e.g., taking off the watch before bedtime routines)
  • Fixed system stability issues caused by extremely long workout tracks
