Team Amazfit Athlete Story: Ann Shuman
Ann, formerly known as Andreanna, was born in Crescent City, Northern California, and moved to Central California at age 17 to attend the University of California, Davis. She has been active all her life and believes that having kids later in life and being active has helped her stay young. Ann started practicing with the high school gymnastics team at age 8 and joined the junior high track team, holding an unofficial national record for the 440-yard relay for a long time. In college, she took an aerobics (i.e., running) class and grew to like jogging. She graduated with a degree in nutrition and went to nursing school. Running kept her sane throughout school, and she started entering 10k runs and half marathons. Ann has run several California classics, including the Big Sur, San Francisco, Napa, and CIM. She ran the Honolulu Marathon and got a high finishing a marathon that she did it again. Running was instrumental for Ann getting through her cancer treatment 17 years ago. It gave her strength, hope, motivation, energy, and made her feel alive.
